As part of the Guardians of the Deep project, we are looking to establish a network of volunteer ‘Coastal Guardians’, to be the eyes and ears of the Kent coast. Whether your interest lies in bird watching, angling, walking the dog, or simply enjoying the view, you can play an important role by:
- Recording and reporting wildlife sightings to add to our knowledge of what lives around our coast
- Taking part in/organising your own beach cleans
- Reporting strandings, pollution incidents, illegal activities to the relevant authorities
- Promoting your favourite stretch of the coast
If you would like to find out about becoming a guardian for the north Kent coast (all training is provided free of charge) or the project itself, contact our project officer Belinda Lamb here or 07803 625496. You can also find out more about Guardians of the Deep here and here. Details of forthcoming events can be found here.
