Since the partnership was established in 2000, it has successfully delivered numerous projects throughout north Kent, working alongside local people, regional, national and European organisations, in order to enhance and raise awareness of the estuary’s importance, both ecologically and historically.

Here are just a few of our past projects:

  1. Sea Wall Botanical Survey – A report on factors affecting the occurrence of nationally scarce plant species on sea walls, within 3 north Kent  Sites of Special Scientific Interest.
  2. Bromhey Farm RSPB Reserve – Collaborative project to improve visitor interpretation across the reserve.
  3. Saxon Shore Way – A guide to the route through Medway, along with a number of enhancements to the path and accompanying signage.
  4. Foreshores – Isle of Sheppey art project, that included sculpture, poetry and film, promoting the natural history and cultural legacy of the island.
  5. Sheppey Ecotourism – A study exploring the feasibility and potential of developing ecotourism on the island.
