Trees for Farms – Dig Days

Trees for Farms is a local initiative based in Swale, whose aim is to “plant native trees to create farm hedgerows as a means of taking positive action to help tackle the challenges of climate change and loss of biodiversity”. This winter they’re looking to plant 1500 trees at two farms within the borough and are seeking volunteers to help out.

They have a number of roles available, from digging/planting to taking photos or simply helping out with planning or stewarding and volunteers are welcome undertake more than just one role. All events will be undertaken in accordance with the UK Government’s current CV19 guidance.

The dates for the Dig Days are as follows:

Sat 14 & Sun 15 Nov, farm nr Conyer – preparing the ground ready for planting;

Sat 28 & Sun 29 Nov, farm in Doddington, planting;

Sat 5 & Sun 6 Dec, farm nr Conyer, planting.

Each day is planned from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.  The 14/15 Nov are unsuitable for very young children.
